Kind en Gezin is a Belgian non-profit organization that helps parents with parenting. It provides all the information and practices for becoming, newly, and already parents. I wanted to find a solution for a problem anno 2019. I came up to work around the idea of newly composed families. Since the traditional family is knowing a decline and newly composed families an increase, this phenomenon will be more and more around us in the next few years.
I created an app for all types of families: newly composed, traditional but even divorced parents. The main goal of this app is to be able to check-in into your children's life and schedules at all times. With one glance you can see their sleeping schedule, food diet, the budget and expenses and even their agenda with planned doctor appointments and playdates.
The app allows the main caregivers to add multiple viewers and data providers to each section. An important objective was to make the flow as easy as possible.
As for design, I wanted to work with soft earth tones to make it easy to digest. The earth tones are accompanied by bright, vibrant colors for each section of the app. Two tones of soft blue are used for the illustrations throughout the app.
I tried to keep the flow as simple as possible and create a spacious environment. There's a combination of icons, illustrations and photos where each is carefully considered.
