The current site is a mainly dark platform with some color accents that depend on the colors of each radio station. It doesn't feel inviting and bombards the user with a lot of unnecessary information. I wanted to reduce the information flood to only the necessary.
There were some restrictions, must- and nice to haves imposed by the client: the site must be accessible for people from 9 to 99 years, it must feature the newest technologies such as streaming, casting and replay features. I made use of a several user stories to make sure I had all the necessary features and extra nice to haves. To start the project I set up a flowchart that guided me through the assignment and all its pages.
I chose a warm, sunny, and happy-looking yellow as the main color throughout the whole app. I wanted to go for a color that looks welcoming and fitted the combination with all the unique colors from each radio station. The yellow is used as a background and accent color on almost every page.
To display all the shows, episodes, and different radio stations I played around with a motion and background blur on the background-image. Since I used this effect on every image, it created consistency and a whole despite visiting the different radio stations.
